Tonight’s reading is from Luke 18, plus we got Seek Ye First and Our God on the playlist!
Tonight, a new location, with some friends — real animals!
Howdy, gang! Tonight we’re going through Luke 14:1-14; and we’ll be practicing My Redeemer Lives and The Blessing.
On Wednesday, October 16, we won’t be meeting in the Youth Center as usual — instead, let’s meet at Giddings High School for a special event, Christ First Now.
We’ve been discussing spiritual self-defense all semester, honing in on the reasons which support our Faith. After watching this video, discuss how it fits into what we’ve covered the past few weeks…
Camp Eagle involves hiking and having bible studies out on the trail. We all got back from it this year and had 2 thoughts:
- Man are we outta shape! and
- Why can’t we hike and have bible studies like that all year long?
So every month we’re gonna try and do a Hike+Bible experience.
First one’s at McKinney Roughs. Saturday, September 21, 8:30 – 12:00.
- Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
- Show up with appropriate gear (shoes, clothing, sunscreen, waters bottles, etc.)
- Bring yer bible study gear (small bible, notebook),
- It costs $5 entry fee to get into the park.

We’ll soon release dates for next summer’s week at camp. Registration opens in September!
This Wednesday, we’ll meet back in the youth center one more time before school starts. If the internet is working, we’ll share Camp Eagle photos / videos and watch a movie.
Somebody grabs the remote and searches for “cats” on the YouTube app. But only a face appears on the screen.
It is a mournful face. Of one betrayed. A somewhat aged face. Vaguely masculine — mostly because of its (his?) facial hair — but also somehow feminine, like one of those angel statues.
“Why don’t you do as you ought, little ones?” the face asks. “Now I shall have to do unto you what you would not do for yourselves — Behold!”
